Dr. Kelemen went through the six-year medical program at City College of New York, getting his medical degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He then went on to an anatomic pathology residency at The University of Illinois at Chicago and a general surgical residency at The University of Chicago Hospitals. After completing a surgical oncology fellowship at The John Wayne Cancer Institute in California, he was a faculty member of Saint Louis University as Director of the Breast Center and Clinical Director of the Cancer Center. He returned to New York and joined The Ashikari Breast Center in 2003. He is the director of clinical research and has participated in groundbreaking research in intraoperative radiotherapy and sentinel node biopsy for early breast cancer.
Pond is originally from the North Fork of Long Island where is spends most of his free time in the summer. He has two grown boys and just had a baby girl Cleo.
